Engine Compartment

Fluid Levels & Leaks

Engine oil level adequate and not leaking excessively

Coolant level adequate with no visible leaks

Power steering fluid level adequate (if equipped)

Windshield washer fluid level adequate

Engine Components

Drive belts properly tensioned without cracking or fraying

Radiator cap secure and cooling system hoses intact

Battery terminals clean and secure (if accessible)

Cab/Driver Area

Driver Controls & Safety

Driver's seat secure and adjusts properly

Seat belt present and functioning (if required)

Steering wheel secure with proper free play (less than 2")

Instrumentation & Controls

All gauges and warning lights functional at startup

Horn operates at adequate volume

Windshield wipers and washers operate effectively

Air Brake System

Air System Checks

Air compressor builds pressure from 85 to 100 PSI within 45 seconds

Air pressure loss less than 2 PSI in 1 minute (engine off)

Low air warning activates at or above 60 PSI

Parking brake valve knob pulls out and pushes in properly

Service Brake Test

Service brakes hold vehicle on incline with firm pedal

No unusual brake pedal feel, noise, or pulling to one side

Lights & Reflectors

Front Lighting

Headlights (high and low beam) clean and operational

Front turn signals amber and functioning properly

Front clearance and identification lights operational

Rear & Side Lighting

Tail lights red and visible from required distance

Brake lights activate when pedal is depressed

Turn signals and hazard flashers operational all around

Reflectors clean, proper color, and not damaged or missing

Tires & Wheels

Tire Condition

Front tires: tread depth at least 4/32" with no irregular wear

Rear tires: tread depth at least 2/32" with even wear patterns

No cuts, bulges, or exposed cords on any tire

Wheel Assembly

All lug nuts present, tight, and not showing rust streaks

Rims not cracked, damaged, or bent

No oil or grease leaks from wheel hubs or axle seals

Suspension & Steering System

Suspension Components

Air suspension maintains proper ride height when loaded

Shock absorbers not leaking and securely mounted

Springs or air bags in good condition without damage

Steering Components

Tie rod ends secure with no excessive play or looseness

Steering box or gear secure and not leaking excessively

Power steering reservoir adequate and no major leaks

Mirrors, Windows & Visibility

Mirror Systems

Left and right side mirrors properly adjusted and secure

Mirrors clean with no cracks, damage, or missing sections

Cross-view mirrors (if equipped) positioned correctly

Windows & Visibility

Windshield clean with no cracks in driver's field of vision

Side windows provide adequate visibility and ventilation

Emergency exit windows clearly marked and operational

Emergency Equipment & Safety

Required Safety Equipment

Fire extinguisher properly mounted, charged, and inspected

Spare electrical fuses (if required) accessible and correct type

Warning devices (triangles or flares) available and accessible

Passenger Safety

Emergency exits clearly marked and operational

Passenger doors operate smoothly and seal properly

Handholds and stanchions secure with no sharp edges
