DAILY SAFETY PRIORITY

This daily inspection is essential for all bus operations. Any safety defects or mechanical issues must be addressed before placing the vehicle in service. Compliance with DOT regulations and manufacturer guidelines is mandatory.

Fleet Management Guidelines

Pre-Inspection Documentation

  • Inspect emergency hammer/window punch tools are accessible.
  • Test two-way radio or communication systems for proper operation.

  • Check that all required safety signage and placards are displayed.
  • Verify spare tire, jack, and tools are present and in good condition.
  • Ensure emergency contact information is current and accessible.

Operational Systems Testing

Environmental & Emissions Systems

  • Check diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) level for vehicles so equipped.

  • Inspect exhaust after-treatment systems for damage or leaks.
  • Verify proper operation of regeneration cycles if applicable.
